Wedding Special: The Bridesmaid Dress
The number one rule at a wedding is to never (NEVER EVER) outshine the bride! It is just the rules of feminism as Gretchen would say. LOL. The second rule is that no one but the bride can wear a white dress and all white. It would be okay for me if the men wanted to wear a white shirt with their suit or dress coat (depending on what is decided).
I done some research on bridesmaids dresses. Looking for nice ones but too nice that they will outshine the bride, me. It is so hard. It all depends on what kind of dress the bride chooses to wear. If she wants something extravagant or something simple. Maggie Sottero that I chose some dresses from yesterday has a line called Flirt by Maggie Sottero. Flirt is actually prom dresses and homecoming dresses but I say as long as they're not to extravagant the can pass a bridesmaids dress.
But wait now. Hold your horses! What about the maid of honor? What is she going to wear? Can she wear the same dress as the bridesmaids? Yes, of course she can wear the same dress as the bridesmaids. But I say that she can wear something slightly different than the bridesmaids just to set her apart, just so show that she is a little bit more special and closer to the bride. It is not that she has to but it can be a little bit more fun. Four people wearing the same dress can be a little awkward. You can also let them wear the same dresses but let the maid of honor wear nicer jewelry or a different necklace, or something like that. So this post has been a little bit hard because for every bridesmaids dress that I found I looked for a dress that is a little bit nicer. Just incase you can your maid of honor to wear something else that the bridesmaids. I have chosen a few and I have categorized the by color.
Dried lavender
These two dresses are very similar. They from JCrew. They're not that expensive. They cost about both of them cost 2166 kr. I don't know what they cost in dollars because the JCrew website automatically changed location and currency to Sweden and kronor.
Arabelle - the maid of honor dress
Heidi - the bridesmaid dress
Misty rose & pale coral
These dresses are also from JCrew but in different colors. Also Arabelle.
Maid of honor - The first one is a hummingbird floral print in pale coral. I really like it because it has a print and is not just plain. I mean one color.
Bridesmaids - This dress is just like the dress above but it is in a slightly different color. It is brighter. Coral one is more red if you look at the two of them.
Blue blossom & morning sky
Blue blossom - This is the maid of honor since she is supposed to stand out but NOT more than the bride.
Morning sky - this is the dress for the bridesmaids. It is a really nice dress but a little more simple than the dress above.
I hope that this was helpful. JCrew has a lot more bridesmaid dresses. Check them out here. They even sell wedding dress.
